The squish of the soft maleable surface beneath your feet.
The twinge in your gut as your caressed by the icy touch of liquid.
The onslaught of pounding, churning excitement as far as you can see on tipy toes.
The sink of your feet as grains of rock are pulled deeper into the cayous.
You feel the pull as well and follow it.
The salt in the air.
The cliff like wall rising out of the water as if it is a gaurdian to the creatures that live beyond it.
Are you worthy? It asks in a rumble.
Legs slowing as it attempts to push you back to the land of your birth, but you challenge it.
With one inhale and one dive, you reply, Yes I am.
For an instant the world freezes, the bellows of the guardian muffle as the entirety of the ocean seems to sweep by above you in one grand gesture of welcome.
Your head breaks the surface and the guardian continues past. For now, it says, you are welcome.
